A membrane bioreactor (MBR) is the combination of a membrane process like microfiltration or ultrafiltration with a suspended growth activated sludge bioreactor, and is widely used for wastewater treatment.
MBR can be used to study wastewater treatment from different sources such as pharmaceutical, food, chemicals, municipal, etc.

It is used for sterilization under saturated steam pressure at 15 psi. Vertical autoclaves can be either single or double walled units, & are made of thick stainless steel. The lid is made of thick gauge stainless steel having maximum pressure rating 22 psi. Safety features such as pressure gauge, steam release valve & safety valve are provided. Optional foot lifting arrangement provided on larger models.
